Job summary

John Colet School in Wendover, Buckinghamshire, is seeking a dedicated PE Teaching Assistant to support the Physical Education department across the full secondary curriculum.

You will set up equipment, coach lunchtime/after-school clubs, and help with fixtures and lesson cover, promoting active, healthy lifestyles among students.

The ideal candidate is well-organised, communicative, and able to take the lead in supervising groups while upholding safety and safeguarding standards.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting PE lessons and sports activities.
• Ability to manage equipment and support lesson cover.
• Commitment to health, safety and safeguarding.

Responsibilities

• Assist with PE lessons, prepare sports equipment, and cover classes when needed.
• Organise school sports events, clubs, and manage fixtures logistics.
• Handle department paperwork, DoE accounts, and communicate with parents via email and newsletters.
• Support student wellbeing and maintain confidentiality in sporting environments.
