Job summary

Queen Mary's School in Thirsk is seeking a proactive Physical Education teacher to motivate pupils across a busy sports programme. You will teach children from Reception to Year 11 in Hockey, Netball, Cricket, Athletics and Swimming.

Reporting to the Director of Sport, you will contribute to an up-to-date curriculum and track pupil progress through ongoing assessment. This maternity cover runs until 3 July 2027 and starts 4 January 2027 with potential extensions depending on school needs.

Qualifications

• Teach children of all abilities from Reception to Year 11 across Hockey, Netball, Cricket, Athletics and Swimming.
• On-going assessment is essential and pupil progress is tracked to inform teaching goals.
• All staff contribute to the wider community of the school.
