Job summary

Hertswood Academy in Borehamwood seeks a passionate Female Teacher of PE for a full-time maternity cover. You will plan, deliver, and assess the PE curriculum across KS3-5, motivate students, run girls' sports clubs, lead teams in fixtures, and support student wellbeing.

The role requires QTS and a degree in Physical Education or related field; coaching qualifications are desirable. You will also supervise female changing facilities and contribute to safeguarding and PSHE delivery.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a degree in Physical Education, Sports Science, or a related discipline.
• Coaching qualifications in key sports are desirable.
• Strong command of the PE National Curriculum, practical and theoretical PE teaching strategies.

Responsibilities

• Plan and teach PE across KS3-5.
• Directly supervise female student changing facilities before, during, and after lessons to ensure safety, privacy and safeguarding.
• Lead female sports teams in extra-curricular clubs, fixtures, tournaments and competitions.
• Assess, monitor and report on student progress and practical performance.
• Deliver form tutor duties including PSHE education, digital literacy and pastoral care.
