Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment are seeking an experienced MFL Teacher to join a highly regarded grammar school in High Wycombe. You will deliver modern foreign language lessons across Key Stage 3 and 4, with a focus on GCSE preparation and language skills development.

The successful applicant will hold QTS or a recognised UK teaching qualification, with a degree in a modern foreign language and secondary teaching experience.

Qualifications

• QTS or recognised UK teaching qualification.
• Degree in a relevant modern foreign language.
• Experience teaching MFL within a secondary school.
• Strong subject knowledge and accurate language skills.
• Experience teaching towards GCSE; sixth-form experience advantageous.
• Clear understanding of effective language teaching and assessment.
• High expectations of pupil achievement and classroom standards.
• Ability to build positive professional relationships with pupils and colleagues.
• A valid DBS or willingness to complete safeguarding checks.

Responsibilities

• Planning and delivering engaging MFL lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
• Teaching language skills including speaking, listening, reading, writing and translation.
• Preparing pupils effectively for GCSE examinations.
• Assessing pupil progress and providing clear, constructive feedback.
• Maintaining high expectations of behaviour, presentation and academic achievement.
• Contributing to departmental planning and curriculum development.
• Supporting pupils who wish to continue language study into the sixth form.
• Working collaboratively with colleagues within the languages department.
• Maintaining accurate records of assessment and pupil progress.
