Job summary

Cooper Lomaz Recruitment Services Ltd is seeking an experienced Mechanical Bias Engineer to join our manufacturing engineering team. The role focuses on safety, reliability and efficiency of site facilities and production equipment, with reactive and preventative maintenance and close collaboration with production colleagues.

The ideal candidate will have a recognised mechanical qualification, strong fault-finding skills, and experience with hydraulics and power transmission systems.

Qualifications

• NVQ/City & Guilds Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Apprenticeship or practical training in mechanical maintenance required.
• HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventive maintenance (PPM) on production machinery, plant and site facilities.
• Respond to mechanical breakdowns, diagnose faults and repair.
• Identify recurring issues and recommend improvements to increase reliability.
• Complete routine inspections and condition checks on machinery and plant.
• Support installation, modification and commissioning of mechanical equipment.
• Work safely to minimise downtime and maintain records and documentation.
• Assist planning and prioritisation of maintenance activities.
• Coordinate with production and engineering teams to uphold high equipment standards.
• Assist with contractor management and ensure safe, compliant work.
