Job summary

The Growth Company is seeking an English and Maths Tutor to plan, deliver and assess Functional Skills and GCSE lessons, maximising learner progress and achievement. The role focuses on Maths (Level 2) with English support where needed, across centres and groups to support diverse learners.

Recent experience teaching Maths to post-16 learners and preparing for Entry 3 to Level 2 is essential, with a passion for empowering learners and a reflective, adaptable approach to teaching.

Qualifications

• Teaching qualification (Level 4+).
• Maths Level 2 – GCSE or Functional Skills.
• English Level 2 – GCSE or Functional Skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver dynamic, inclusive lessons that inspire learner engagement and challenge.
• Conduct initial and ongoing assessments to tailor learning pathways.
• Personalise teaching using IA outcomes and holistic learner data.
• Promote high expectations to build confidence and aspirations.
• Manage classroom behaviour to foster a safe and supportive learning environment.
• Track progress and identify learners needing intervention for rapid improvement.
• Deliver impactful teaching across centres, groups, and individual learners.
• Champion safeguarding, equality, diversity, and health & safety policies.
