Job summary

CJP Outreach is recruiting a Male Support Worker to join a dedicated team providing 2:1 support within a 24/7 package. The role involves 15-hour rotating shifts, supporting a gentleman at home and in the community.

We value reliability, proactivity, and a person-centred approach. Experience with cerebral palsy, autism, complex behavioural needs and trauma-informed care is preferred; DBS checks and a friendly, supportive attitude are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in supporting people with cerebral palsy.
• Experience in autism support is beneficial.
• Experience with complex behavioural needs is advantageous.
• Knowledge of trauma-informed care is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centred support promoting independence, choice and dignity.
• Help access community activities and pursue hobbies.
• Identify triggers that may lead to mental health decline or challenging behaviours.
• Apply Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) strategies to improve quality of life.
• Collaborate to create and implement tailored support plans.
• Assist with life skills: cooking, hygiene, budgeting and household tasks.
• Support medication administration, appointments and health needs.
• Maintain accurate care records and document progress and outcomes.
• Work with family, colleagues and external professionals to ensure holistic care.
