Job summary

Academics in Bexley is seeking an enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join a school from October 2026. The HLTA will work across KS1 and KS2, supporting pupils 1:1, in groups and during whole-class learning.

This full-time role offers a supportive environment and variety; applicants should hold HLTA qualifications or relevant experience and be prepared to obtain a fully enhanced DBS on the Update Service. Salary will reflect qualifications and experience per the school's pay policy.

Qualifications

• Hold relevant HLTA experience or qualifications.
• Be confident working across KS1 and KS2.
• Be able to support pupils 1:1, in groups and across whole-class settings.
• Be flexible, enthusiastic and adaptable to different needs.
• Have strong classroom management and communication skills.
• Commitment to pupil learning, progress and wellbeing.
• Have a fully enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for a new DBS.
