Job summary

Brighton College is seeking a full-time Teacher of History on a fixed-term contract from January 2027 to December 2027. The successful candidate will teach History across Years 7 to A-level, contribute to the department’s extension programme, and support pupils with applications to leading universities, including Oxford and Cambridge.

Qualifications

• Teach History across the curriculum from Year 7 to A-level.
• Able to support pupils with applications to leading universities (including Oxford and Cambridge).
• Engage in continuous professional development and contribute to Masterclass programme.

Responsibilities

• Teach History across Years 7–A-level as part of the curriculum.
• Contribute to the department’s extension programme and university applications support.
• Participate in the school’s pastoral system as a tutor in one of 16 houses.
• Lead or contribute to cocurricular activities and the History Society.
