Job summary

Marchant Recruitment is seeking a committed Geography Teacher to join an academy in Hartlepool, County Durham, with ASAP start. The role involves teaching Geography across KS3 and KS4 and contributing to the humanities department.

You will deliver engaging lessons on physical landscapes, urban environments, climate, development and global issues, while supporting GCSE preparation and skill development.

Qualifications

• Holds QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• Secure Geography subject knowledge and effective classroom management.
• Able to make complex geographical concepts accessible and relevant.
• Uses assessment to identify gaps in knowledge and improve pupil progress.

Responsibilities

• Teach Geography across KS3 and KS4.
• Deliver engaging lessons covering physical landscapes, urban environments, climate, development and global issues.
• Develop pupils’ map-reading, data interpretation and geographical enquiry skills.
• Prepare GCSE classes for examinations through regular assessment and targeted feedback.
• Adapt teaching to meet the needs of pupils with different abilities and learning styles.
• Work with humanities colleagues to develop resources and strengthen curriculum delivery.
