Job summary

Irwin Mitchell LLP is seeking a proactive Credit Controller to join our Finance team in a busy Credit Control function. You will handle daily correspondence, chase overdue balances, and maintain aged debt portfolios, ensuring timely collections and accurate records.

The role supports a flexible, hybrid working style and requires strong client relationship skills. The ideal candidate will have Credit Control experience, preferably in a law firm or corporate setting, and be adept with MS Office

Qualifications

• Experience in Credit Control, specifically across B2B customers.
• Experience in a law firm or corporate/regulated environment is desirable.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining service.

Responsibilities

• Process daily correspondence in Credit Control and manage follow ups.
• Attend aged debt reviews with Senior Credit Controllers.
• Log queries and actions; maintain records in systems.
• Chase overdue debts by telephone, letter and statements.
• Maintain a portfolio of aged debtors and ensure timely collection.
• Update systems with commentary to keep records current.
• Collaborate with Partners, Fee Earners and Team Assistants as needed.
• Perform ad-hoc duties to support the team.
