Job summary

ICAEW in Wythenshawe is seeking an experienced Credit Controller to join on a 12-month fixed-term contract. You will own customer accounts, chase overdue payments, and help protect cash flow while delivering reliable customer service.

Working within a supportive finance team, you will reconcile accounts, produce aged debt reports, and negotiate payment arrangements. Immediate start available; salary up to £32,000 with on-site parking and a friendly environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in Credit Control or Accounts Receivable.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to manage a high-volume ledger and meet collection targets.
• Experience of account reconciliations and cash allocations.
• Ability to build effective relationships with customers and colleagues.
• Good attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and finance systems.

Responsibilities

• Proactively manage and maintain a portfolio of customer accounts.
• Chasing overdue payments via telephone, email, and written correspondence.
• Reducing aged debt and improving cash collection performance.
• Allocating incoming payments and reconciling customer accounts.
• Investigating and resolving invoice and payment queries.
• Building strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.
• Producing aged debt reports and providing updates to management.
• Negotiating and monitoring payment arrangements where required.
• Escalating high-risk accounts and supporting debt recovery processes.
• Assisting with month-end reporting and other finance-related duties.
