TeacherActive is partnering with a mainstream secondary/middle school in Sunderland to recruit a reliable Cover Supervisor. The role involves supervising classes during teacher absences, delivering pre-planned work and maintaining pupil focus across subjects. This is an immediate-start, temporary-to-permanent opportunity in Sunderland.

The ideal candidate will have relevant education qualifications, strong safeguarding knowledge, and a proactive, adaptable approach to supporting pupils’ progress.

Qualifications

• Strong classroom management and engagement across subjects.
• Experience with children or young people in secondary/middle school.
• Experience supervising groups and managing behaviour.
• Good safeguarding understanding and school expectations.
• Strong communication, organisation and classroom management skills.
• Confident, adaptable and proactive approach to supporting pupils.
