Job summary

The Education Space is seeking a dedicated Cover Supervisor to work under teaching staff, delivering cover lessons and supervising classes during short- and long-term teacher absences. Classes cover a range of subjects, sizes and abilities in a secondary school setting.

Working hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 3:00pm (27.5 hours per week, term time only). The successful candidate will be proactive in checking daily cover requirements and supporting pupils with patience and adaptability.

Qualifications

• Able to deliver cover lessons across a range of subjects
• Proactive and able to check daily cover requirements
• Strong literacy and numeracy
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils
• Flexible and adaptable to different ages and abilities
• Patient and calm manner

Responsibilities

• Deliver cover lessons in the classroom
• Supervise lessons during teacher absence
• Respond to pupil needs and maintain classroom order
• Liaise with teaching staff on daily cover
