Reading Private School is seeking a knowledgeable Computer Science Teacher to deliver engaging lessons, develop students' programming and computational thinking, and inspire problem-solving. The role involves curriculum delivery, safeguarding, and contributing to technology projects.

The ideal candidate will have QTS and a relevant degree, strong programming knowledge, and experience teaching CS at secondary level. A collaborative, proactive approach is essential.

Qualifications

• QTS or equivalent teaching qualification required.
• Degree in Computer Science or related subject.
• Experience teaching CS in secondary/similar setting.
• Strong subject knowledge and programming skills.
• Ability to explain complex concepts clearly.
• Experience teaching GCSE/A-Level CS or readiness to teach.
• Knowledge of Python, Java, JavaScript or similar.
• Understanding of algorithms, data structures, networks, cybersecurity.
• Excellent classroom management and communication.
• Collaborative and proactive with colleagues and parents.

Responsabilités

• Plan and deliver engaging CS lessons aligned to curriculum.
• Teach programming, algorithms, data representation and systems.
• Support practical coding using relevant languages.
• Prepare students for GCSE/A-Level assessments.
• Differentiate lessons for varying abilities.
• Monitor progress and provide constructive feedback.
• Lead or support coding clubs and tech projects.
• Maintain safeguarding and effective communication with parents.
