Job summary

Supply Staff Ltd in Somerset is seeking a reliable Cover Supervisor to support schools with full-time long-term and day-to-day supply work across the county. As a Cover Supervisor, you will supervise classes in the absence of their usual teacher, ensuring students remain engaged with their work and maintain positive behaviour.

You will follow lesson plans, provide classroom supervision, and help cultivate a positive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people is desirable.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• Confident and professional approach to supervising classes.
• Ability to follow lesson plans and school procedures.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willing to apply.
• Full compliance with standard UK school safeguarding regulations.

Responsibilities

• Supervise classes in the absence of the regular teacher.
• Deliver and oversee pre-prepared lesson activities.
• Maintain positive behaviour and classroom standards.
• Support students with their learning where appropriate.
• Liaise with teaching staff and wider school teams.
