Job summary

Milk Education is seeking a Cover Supervisor to support local schools across the UK. You will supervise classrooms, deliver pre-set lesson plans, and maintain pupil safety in the teacher’s absence.

The role emphasizes strong communication, positive behaviour management, and the ability to support pupils with SEND/SEMH needs within a mainstream setting. Start in September 2026 with term-time hours and a daily rate of £120.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication, literacy, and numeracy skills.
• Recent experience working with children, youth groups, or vulnerable individuals (paid or voluntary).
• High emotional intelligence, resilience, and ability to adapt to fluid classroom environments.
• Exceptional behaviour management skills and a proactive educator.

Responsibilities

• Leading and managing classrooms across a variety of subjects, ensuring pupils remain safe, engaged, and on-task in the teacher’s absence.
• Delivering pre-set lesson plans smoothly and managing classroom behaviour confidently using calm, structured, and consistent de-escalation strategies.
• Supporting vulnerable learners and pupils with diverse SEND and SEMH needs (such as ADHD, autism, and emotional regulation differences) within a mainstream setting.
• Working closely with the school’s internal SEND team and external specialists to implement person-centred strategies in real-world scenarios.
