Job summary

Academics is seeking a Secondary Chemistry Teacher for Chester with September start. This role offers flexible daily supply, short-term, and long-term opportunities across supportive secondary schools in the Chester area.

Applicants should hold UK Qualified Teacher Status and a degree in Chemistry or a related field, with a strong command of KS3/KS4 chemistry and GCSE exam strategies. DBS update or willingness to apply is required.

Qualifications

• UK Qualified Teacher Status required.
• Strong knowledge of the UK National Curriculum for Chemistry and General Science KS3/KS4.
• Ability to prepare GCSE-style assessment and exam practice.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging Chemistry and General Science lessons across KS3/KS4 (KS5 opportunities for specialists).
• Cover daily, short-term and long-term blocks across Chester science departments.
• Supervise and ensure safety of practical laboratory work and experiments.
• Maintain high standards of behavior and a safe, structured learning environment.
