Job summary

Thomson House Primary School, part of the Wandle Learning Trust in South London, is seeking an Assistant Teacher to work term time, five days a week from 8.00am to 4.00pm.

You will support the class teacher, assist pupils with academic work and social development, lead playtime activities, and participate in inset days. The role is graded at Scale 1c (£28,221 FTE, pro-rata to £23,101.26) with 185 term days per year and 37.5 hours weekly.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 GCSEs (English & Maths grade C or above).
• Experience with primary-age children preferred.
• Be a role model with positive relations to children.
• Be dedicated and reliable, keen to get involved in all aspects of school life.

Responsibilities

• Support the class teacher in delivering curriculum and supporting pupils academically.
• Support pupils socially and during break times.
• Lead games activities for pupils at playtime.
• Attend Inset days (6 per year) and participate in all aspects of school life.
