Job summary

Mitie is seeking Security Guards nationwide to support a new project with the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP). You will be responsible for ensuring a safe environment for staff and visitors, patrolling sites, reporting hazards, and liaising with emergency services as needed.

The role requires previous security experience, a DS licence preferred, and a full UK driving licence with flexibility to travel to multiple DWP sites within the region.

Responsibilities

• Look out for, and to immediately report, any Health & Safety hazards, or potential hazards, on site.
• Stay alert to any threats or changes within the work environment to take the appropriate action to reduce the chance of disruption, loss or damage.
• Maintain professional conduct in the face of difficult situations and challenging customers.
• Complete an accurate, detailed notebook entry as soon as possible after any incident, which can then be used as part of the Incident Report process.
• Keep to schedules and demonstrate commitment to Mitie and the Client.
• Call emergency services and Communication Centre to report all incidents.
• Ensure a safe and secure environment for the DWP staff, visitors, and property.
• Patrol the premises regularly to identify potential security threats.
• Respond effectively to emergencies or suspicious situations.
• Liaise with local law enforcement and emergency services as needed.
• Provide a high level of customer service and assist staff and visitors in any security-related matter.
• Conduct routine security checks and submit incident reports as appropriate.
• Adhere to Mitie and DWP security policies, procedures, and regulations
