Job summary

Google UK SecOps is seeking a security engineer to deploy, operate, and secure private cloud services for critical customers. You will manage SIEM, IDS/IPS, CWPP tooling, and implement monitoring and logging strategies.

With 5+ years in security or platform engineering, you will work with Terraform/ArgoCD, Kubernetes security, and scripting in Python or Go. DV clearance is required or eligibility; British citizenship is a must. On-site in London or Wiltshire.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of security engineering or platform engineering roles.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code and GitOps (Terraform, ArgoCD) and cloud-native security orchestration.
• Experience with Kubernetes security and container orchestration.
• Proficiency in Python or Go for tooling and PoCs.
• Eligible for Developed Vetting UK security clearance (DV). Must be a British citizen.

Responsibilities

• Deploy, configure, and manage cloud security platform tools (SIEM, IDS/IPS, CWPP).
• Develop and implement security monitoring and logging strategies.
• Investigate and analyse security incidents and remediation actions.
• Perform forensic analysis to identify suspicious activity.
• Automate security tasks and workflows to improve efficiency.
• Deliver, operate, and secure private cloud services for critical customers.
• Collaborate with Incident Response, Platform Engineering, and Security Architects to harden infrastructure.
• Participate in rotating on-call schedule weekends.
