Job summary

Free-Work is seeking an experienced PMO Manager to lead the PMO function across complex programme delivery activities in the UK. The role requires strong governance, reporting and change-control capabilities, with experience managing RAID and dependencies, budgets and schedules.

You will coordinate planning, reporting and assurance activities, drive improvements across PMO processes, and liaise with senior stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Strong PMO leadership experience in complex programmes.
• Governance, assurance and reporting expertise.
• Experience with RAID, dependencies and formal change-control.
• Excellent planning and delivery-control capabilities.
• Financial management including budgeting and forecasting.
• Experience supporting procurement, contracts and commercial activities.
• Resource planning and forecasting experience.
• Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.
• Experience with SharePoint and reporting tools.
• Experience in Defence, Government or regulated programmes is advantageous.
• Experience in transformation, service delivery, and Agile/Waterfall environments.
• Strong leadership, stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the PMO function across programme delivery activities.
• Establish and maintain programme governance, controls and assurance processes.
• Manage RAID, actions, decisions, dependencies and change-control processes.
• Coordinate programme planning, schedule reviews and delivery reporting.
• Manage financial governance including budgeting, forecasting, invoicing and financial reporting.
• Support procurement, commercial and contractual activities.
• Manage resource planning, forecasting and allocation across the programme.
• Produce programme reports, dashboards and management information for senior stakeholders.
• Monitor programme performance and identify emerging risks, issues and delivery concerns.
• Ensure programme documentation, governance and reporting meet required standards.
• Support programme reviews, assurance activities and decision-making forums.
• Drive improvements across PMO processes, reporting and programme controls.
• Work closely with senior customers, delivery teams and programme stakeholders.
