Job summary

Deloitte seeks a DV-cleared Data Scientist / Machine Learning Consultant to join a Defence & Security practice in a hybrid UK setting. You will apply data science, ML and AI to complex national security challenges, designing and deploying scalable analytics solutions across the project lifecycle.

You will mentor peers, translate client requirements into practical outcomes and stay at the cutting edge of AI technologies, from generative models to production-grade systems.

Qualifications

• Active Developed Vetting (DV) Clearance.
• Experience applying Data Science, Machine Learning or AI within Defence, Security, Government or research environments.
• Strong understanding of ML techniques and architectures, including Generative AI, Transformers and neural networks.
• Python and common Data Science libraries.
• TensorFlow, PyTorch or similar machine learning frameworks.
• AWS, Azure or Google Cloud AI and Data Science services.
• Ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Applying Data Science, Machine Learning and AI techniques to solve complex business and operational challenges.
• Designing, developing and deploying innovative AI and analytics solutions.
• Working directly with Defence and Security clients to translate requirements into practical outcomes.
• Building prototypes, proof-of-concepts and production-ready solutions.
• Supporting the delivery of large-scale transformation and technology programmes.
• Contributing to new business opportunities, proposals and client engagements.
• Mentoring colleagues and supporting the growth of Deloitte's AI and Data Science capabilities.
• Staying at the forefront of emerging AI, Machine Learning and Data Science technologies.
