The Hurlingham Club is seeking a Duty Supervisor to actively oversee the indoor pool, fitness and studio areas. The role focuses on delivering high standards of service, safety and presentation across the department. You will lead shifts, respond to operational issues and manage day-to-day activities within a club environment.
We require strong customer service, supervisory experience, and budgeting awareness. A pool/fitness qualification is advantageous.
The Swimming & Fitness team are a large, friendly team responsible for looking after the members and their guests with regards the indoor sports facilities, Racquet and Fitness Centres, Dance Studio, Gym, Indoor Pool, Squash, Treatment room, Crèche as well as the Outdoor Pool in the summer months along with some seasonal outdoor sports activities.
This is a hands-on operational role, with a strong focus on Duty Supervision. The successful candidate will be an active presence across the Swimming & Fitness facilities, supporting members and guests, overseeing the safe day-to-day operation of the indoor pool, fitness and studio area and undertaking poolside and plant room responsibilities. Alongside Studio Manager duties, the role requires a visible and proactive supervisor who is comfortable leading shifts, responding to operational issues and maintaining the highest standards of service, safety and presentation throughout the department. As a Duty Supervisor you will work full time; 37.5 hours over five days. Shifts are scheduled as part of a rota and will include office hour administration shifts, early opening shifts, evening closing shifts and weekends as part of duty supervision.

The ideal candidate will have exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills, with the ability to remain calm under pressure while being friendly, polite and diplomatic. Commercially astute with experience managing budgets and teaching a range of group exercise classes. They will have previous supervisory experience in a similar environment and demonstrate excellent teamwork and organisational skills. A current Pool Plant, Lifeguard, First Aid or gym qualification would be desirable.
