Job summary

YMCA East Surrey is seeking a part-time Duty Officer & Building Support with Children and Young People - Disability Service in Reigate. The role involves opening/closing the Sovereign Centre, reception duties, safety checks, and helping maintain a welcoming, well-run centre for participants and the public.

The candidate should have safeguarding knowledge, a First Aid qualification (or be willing to obtain one), and a strong customer service ethos with a proactive, energetic approach.

Qualifications

• Must have safeguarding knowledge for children and adults.
• First Aid qualification or willingness to complete training.
• Strong customer service ethos and proactive approach.
• Ability to work independently with initiative.

Responsibilities

• Open and close the building, ensuring safety and YMCA procedures.
• Provide reception cover and respond to enquiries professionally.
• Carry out food safety checks and maintain records.
• Log maintenance needs and oversee works on site.
• Support building and office operations to high professional standards.
• Promote YMCA services and manage visitor badges and door fobs.
