Job summary

Alexander Steele Recruitment is partnering with an established manufacturing business to appoint a Health, Safety & Environment Advisor to support operations across two sites in England.

You will work hands-on with the Health & Safety Manager and senior stakeholders, delivering practical HSE advice, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring compliance with COSHH, PUWER, waste management and energy policies across sites.

Qualifications

• We require at least 2 years of Health, Safety & Environmental experience.
• NEBOSH National General Certificate or equivalent is essential.
• Experience with COSHH, PUWER, manual handling and fire safety.
• Understanding of waste, water and energy management.
• Ability to advise and train staff and management.

Responsibilities

• Carry out site inspections, risk assessments and reviews across COSHH, PUWER and general workplace risks.
• Support investigations into accidents and near misses with root-cause analysis.
• Monitor HSE performance and compliance, producing improvement reports.
• Provide practical HSE guidance to employees and managers and update policies.
• Deliver HSE training and foster a proactive safety culture across two sites.
• Ensure contractor compliance with Health & Safety standards.
• Support Environmental compliance and improvement projects.
