Job summary

Orion Smart Metering is hiring experienced Dual Fuel Smart Meter Engineers to join our expanding national team across the UK. You will install smart meters in domestic properties, deliver a professional customer-focused service, and ensure work meets safety and compliance standards.

We offer flexible pay options: a £45,000 annual salary with 33 days holiday, plus guaranteed day-rate options (£200 or £275 per day) via Umbrella PAYE, with a company van, fuel card, tools and uniform provided.

Qualifications

• Smart Meter Engineering qualification or diploma.
• CMA1 or CCN1 & MET1 certifications.
• MOCOPA certification (or induction).
• Full UK driving licence.
• Clean DBS check (recent preferred).
• EUSR card advantageous.

At Orion Smart Metering, we’re proud to work with some of the UK’s biggest energy and metering companies.

As we continue to grow our national contracts, we’re looking for experienced Dual Fuel Smart Meter Engineers to join our expanding team.

Pay & Package Options

Choose the option that suits your circumstances:

• Salary Package
  • £45,000 per annum.
  • 33 days holiday (including bank holidays)
  • Company van, fuel card, tools & uniform provided
• Guaranteed Day Rate – Option 1
  • £200 per day
  • Paid via Umbrella PAYE
  • Company van, fuel card, tools & uniform provided
• Guaranteed Day Rate – Option 2
  • £275 per day
  • Paid via Umbrella PAYE
  • Engineer provides own van & fuel
  • Tools & uniform provided

Bonus Breakdown

• KPI Bonus – £150 per month
  • Achieved by hitting 75% job completion in a calendar month
• Attendance Bonus – £150 per month
  • Awarded for full attendance with no sick days
  • Pro-rated for holidays

Working Hours

Monday to Friday, 8am–5pm (1-hour lunch)

Minimum 4 jobs per day / 20 per week

Optional weekend work available once weekly targets are met

Call Out

1 week in 4 rota

Standby payments Monday–Sunday

Per job rates:

• £150 per dual install
• £80 per single
• £50 per transactional job

Saturday work available (paid at day rate)

Requirements

• Smart Meter Engineering qualification or diploma

• Full UK driving licence
• Clean DBS check (recent within 3 months preferred)
• EUSR card (advantageous, not essential)

Documents required:

• Driving licence, passport, gas certificates, MOCOPA, qualifications, NI number, references, and DBS.
