Job summary

The Supply Register Ltd. is seeking a DT Technician to support the Design & Technology department. You will prepare materials, tools and equipment for practical lessons and help keep workshops tidy and stocked for daily use.

You will assist staff during lessons, monitor stock levels and help with ordering materials, while ensuring health and safety guidelines are followed and equipment is maintained and stored properly.

Qualifications

• Previous DT Technician or workshop/machine maintenance experience is desirable.
• Knowledge of workshop tools, machinery and health and safety procedures.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
• Two professional references covering the last 24 months.
• Right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Prepare materials, tools and equipment for practical DT lessons.
• Maintain and organise workshops, classrooms and storage areas.
• Ensure equipment is cleaned, maintained and stored safely.
• Assist teaching staff during practical lessons where required.
• Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering materials and equipment.
• Carry out routine maintenance of machinery and tools in line with health and safety guidelines.
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, COSHH and school procedures at all times.
• Dispose of waste materials safely and maintain a clean working environment.
• Undertake any other duties appropriate to the role as requested by the Head of Department or School Leadership Team.
