Job summary

Hackney secondary school is seeking a qualified DT Technician to join its Design & Technology department for a full-time, term-time-only contract with immediate start.

You will support the smooth running of the DT department by preparing materials and equipment, maintaining workshop areas and assisting teachers during practical lessons, while ensuring tools and machinery are used safely and health and safety checks are completed.

Qualifications

• Qualified DT Technician or recognised technical qualification.
• Experience with tools, machinery and workshop equipment.
• Health and safety qualification/training relating to tools and machinery.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Proactive, reliable and practical approach; able to support pupils.

Responsibilities

• Prepare materials and equipment for DT lessons.
• Maintain workshop areas and safety checks.
• Assist teachers during practical sessions.
