Job summary

Kingsdown School is recruiting a Technician to support the Design Technology department. Reporting to the Head of DT, the role involves preparing classrooms and workshops, assisting with practical activities, and managing equipment in line with health and safety policies.

The ideal candidate will have CAD/CAM knowledge (Techsoft 2D Design, SketchUp, Fusion 360) and hands-on experience with circular saws, planes and laser/CAM machines.

Qualifications

• Experience with circular saw, planes and bandsaw.
• Knowledge of CAD/CAM software such as Techsoft 2D Design, SketchUp or Fusion 360.
• Experience in health and safety procedures.
• GCSEs in at least three subjects; or two years’ technician experience with NVQ/in-service training.

Responsibilities

• Prepare classrooms and workshops for lessons.
• Demonstrate and assist in practical activities.
• Deal with equipment and materials in compliance with Health and Safety procedures.
