Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment LTD. is recruiting a DT Technician for Scunthorpe on daily supply and long-term placements. You will support teachers with practical DT lessons, prepare materials, maintain tools, and help keep workshops safe and well organised.

Applicants should have hands-on experience in Design Technology or related trades, a good grasp of workshop safety, and the ability to work across KS3/KS4. DBS check and right to work in the UK are required.

Qualifications

• Experience in Design Technology, Engineering, Construction, Manufacturing, Woodwork or Metalwork.
• Strong workshop health and safety knowledge.
• Confident using a range of tools and machinery.

Responsibilities

• Supporting teaching staff with the preparation and delivery of practical DT lessons
• Preparing, maintaining and organising tools, equipment and materials for practical lessons
• Ensuring workshops, classrooms and practical areas are clean, safe and well organised
• Supporting students with the safe and appropriate use of tools, machinery and equipment
• Assisting with demonstrations and practical activities across KS3 and KS4
• Carrying out routine checks and basic maintenance of tools, machinery and equipment
• Ensuring appropriate health and safety procedures are followed at all times
• Managing and maintaining stock levels of materials, resources and equipment
• Supporting teachers with the preparation of classroom resources and practical projects
• Reporting any equipment, maintenance or health and safety concerns to the appropriate member of staff

As a DT Technician on supply, you will;

To join us and be successful as a DT Technician, you will need to:

• Have relevant practical or technical experience, ideally within Design Technology, Engineering, Construction, Manufacturing, Woodwork or Metalwork
• Have a good understanding of workshop health and safety procedures
• Be confident using a range of tools, equipment and machinery
• Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) - or willing to obtain one
• Professional reference checks
• CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history where possible
• Legal right to work in the UK
