Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment LTD. is seeking an enthusiastic Design and Technology Teacher for a secondary school in Hounslow, West London, starting January 2027. The role covers KS3, KS4 and KS5 with a mix of practical and theory lessons to build creativity and problem-solving skills.

The successful candidate will have at least two years of DT teaching experience in a secondary setting, strong subject knowledge, and a commitment to high standards of teaching and student achievement.

Qualifications

• QTS or equivalent required for DT teaching.
• 2+ years DT teaching experience in secondary school.
• Evidence of KS3/KS4/KS5 delivery and GCSE/post-16 support.
• Sound health and safety knowledge in practical teaching.
• Strong classroom management and motivational skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver DT lessons across KS3, KS4 and KS5.
• Teach practical and theory content, developing design and technical skills.
• Prepare students for GCSE and post-16 assessments.
• Create an engaging, safe learning environment encouraging creativity.
• Differentiate lessons to suit varying abilities and learning styles.
• Monitor progress, provide feedback and adjust teaching strategies.
• Contribute to the department and school community with high standards.
