Job summary

The UK defence client is recruiting up to five DSAT Training Specialists to join their Training and Development team on 12-month contracts.

As a DSAT Training Specialist, you will ensure training solutions are designed, developed, delivered and assured in accordance with JSP 822, supporting safe, effective and operationally relevant training across the Submarines enterprise. You will work with SMEs, designers, and assurance teams to translate needs into evidence-based training.

Qualifications

• Essential DSAT and JSP 822 knowledge.
• Experience applying DSAT across analysis, design, development, delivery and evaluation.
• Experience performing Training Needs Analysis (TNA) and defining requirements.
• Knowledge of instructional design and adult learning principles.
• Experience building learning objectives, specifications and assessment plans.

Responsibilities

• Apply DSAT methodology across the training design and development lifecycle.
• Conduct and support training needs analysis, identifying requirements and gaps.
• Develop and maintain training requirements, specifications and documentation.
• Collaborate with SMEs to define objectives, performance statements and assessments.
• Design learner-focused, measurable training aligned to operational needs.
• Support development of training and assessment strategies with formative and summative methods.
• Ensure products comply with defence standards and quality requirements.
• Provide DSAT guidance to project teams and stakeholders.
• Support validation and evaluation activities using evidence for improvements.
• Maintain training records, documentation and audit trails.
• Contribute to assurance activities and external reviews as needed.
• Identify risks and opportunities in training delivery; foster cross-functional relationships.
