Job summary

Government Recruitment Service seeks a Driving Examiner for a full-time role in Slough. You will conduct driving tests, typically around 57 minutes each, with an expectation of completing seven tests daily.

You will observe, recall key details and report outcomes clearly, while assessing whether candidates meet the standard to drive safely and responsibly. You will also plan the day with colleagues, handle queries, and contribute to improving customer service, upholding impartiality and

Qualifications

• Able to communicate clearly with customers and give clear instructions.
• Able to put nervous customers at ease.
• Ensure safety of yourself, the customer and the public.
• Observe driving behaviours and record outcomes using a digital tablet.
• Assess whether customers meet the standard to drive safely and responsibly.
• Hold difficult conversations and deliver outcomes sensitively and professionally.
• Assist with planning the day and respond to queries as needed.

Responsibilities

• Conduct driving tests, each test about 57 minutes long.
• Complete around 7 tests per day in a full-time schedule.
• Observe test subjects, recall details and report findings clearly.
• Assess driving ability against safety standards.
• Maintain impartiality, professionalism and integrity at all times.
