Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) is hiring Driving Examiners to deliver a professional service at DVSA test centres across the UK. The role involves conducting driving tests, about 57 minutes each, with a target of seven tests a day, ensuring safety and compliance throughout the testing process.

You will assess candidates against standards, communicate clearly with customers, and contribute to road safety and public confidence.

Responsibilities

• Communicate clearly with customers, giving clear instructions.
• Put nervous customers at ease.

• Have a strong awareness of your surroundings both within and outside of the car.
• Observe driving behaviours, recall key details and record outcomes accurately using a digital tablet.
• Assess whether customers meet the standard to drive safely and responsibly.
• Hold difficult conversations with the customer and deliver driving test outcomes clearly and professionally.
