Job summary

GXO Logistics is seeking a Drivers Mate for our Site to Home team in Preston Brook. The role is full-time and permanent, with a 48-hour week starting at 06:00, Tuesday to Saturday.

You will work as part of a two-person delivery team to bring B&Q products to customer premises and support the driver with loading, unloading, and parking. Your day includes providing excellent customer service, keeping customers informed of delivery times, and maintaining goods in pristine condition.

Qualifications

• Experience of multi-drop home delivery preferred but not essential.
• Excellent customer service skills, both written and verbal.
• Willingness to complete manual handling tasks such as pulling, lifting and pushing.
• Be prepared to commute to Preston Brook (WA7 3GE) for the required shift pattern.
• Willingness to undertake pre-employment DBS check.

Responsibilities

Here at GXO, we’re working together with B&Q and are looking for a Drivers Mate to join our Site to Home team in Preston Brook (WA7 3GE).

You’ll be working on a full-time, permanent basis, Tuesday to Saturday, with a start time at 06:00. The role is contracted to 48 hours per week.

As a Drivers Mate, you’ll receive:

• An hourly rate of £12.71, that is an annual salary of £31,724.16

What you’ll do on a typical day:

• Work as a part of two-person team delivering products to customer premises (room of choice)
• Assist the delivery driver in parking and manoeuvring a company vehicle as well as loading and unloading of vehicles as and when required
• Provide effective customer service while ensuring goods are delivered in excellent condition
• Ensure that customers are kept informed of their estimated time of delivery and any issues are communicated in a polite and courteous manner

What you need to succeed at GXO:

• Experience of dealing with multi drop home delivery preferred but not essential
