Job summary

Ambitions Personnel in the United Kingdom is seeking a reliable Driver's Mate to support a busy delivery team. You will assist with deliveries, loading, unloading, and customer service at each location.

This role is physically demanding, on a fixed rota of 5 days on, 3 days off, with 7am starts and typically 8–10 hour shifts. DBS check required and ongoing temp work with a supportive team.

About the Role

We are currently recruiting for reliable and hardworking Driver's Mates to join a busy delivery team. You will be working alongside a delivery driver, assisting with deliveries, loading and unloading goods, and providing excellent customer service at every delivery location.

This is a physically demanding role, ideal for someone who enjoys working as part of a team and is happy to be out on the road.

Key Responsibilities

• Assisting the driver with daily delivery schedules.

• Loading and unloading goods safely and efficiently.

• Helping deliver items to customers' homes and business premises.

• Assisting with carrying and positioning goods at delivery locations.

• Ensuring all deliveries are completed safely and on time.

• Providing a friendly and professional service to customers.

• Following all health and safety procedures.

• Keeping the vehicle clean, tidy and organised.

Skills & Experience Required

• Previous experience in a delivery or warehouse environment would be beneficial but is not essential.

• Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling and heavy lifting.

• Reliable, punctual and hardworking.

• Good communication and customer service skills.

• Ability to work well as part of a team.

• Flexible approach to working hours and duties.

• Available to work weekends as part of the rota.

DBS Requirement – Essential

• Candidates must already hold a valid DBS certificate or be willing to complete a DBS check before commencing employment.

• A satisfactory DBS check must be completed before the start date.

• Applicants must be able to provide the necessary information and documentation to complete the DBS process.
