Job summary

Velocity UK Limited is hiring a Driver's Mate in Jarrow to support a busy delivery operation. The role involves assisting a Class 1 driver on UK deliveries, loading and unloading fireplaces, and handling heavy lifting. Nights away from home are expected, with approximately four nights out weekly.

The position runs Monday to Friday from the Jarrow site. The role requires reliability, a positive attitude, and comfort with travel across the UK.

Qualifications

• Must be physically fit for heavy lifting.
• No formal qualifications required, but reliability and good attitude are essential.
• Experience in delivery, warehouse or labouring roles is beneficial but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Assist the driver with deliveries across the UK.
• Deliver fireplaces directly to customers.
• Load and unload goods during deliveries.
• Handle heavy lifting and manual handling tasks.
• Spend nights out on the road; approx. 4 nights per week.
• Work Monday to Friday in the driving operation.

DRIVER'S MATE - JARROW

Location: Jarrow
Working Hours: Monday - Friday
Pay: £14.24 per hour
Night Out Allowance: £15.60 per night
Nights Out: Approximately 4 nights per week

We are currently recruiting for a Driver's Mate to join our client's busy delivery operation based in Jarrow.

The role involves travelling with a Class 1 driver and assisting with the deliveriesto customers across the UK. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys being on the road and is comfortable with a physically demanding role.

The Role

• Assisting the driver with deliveries across the UK
• Delivering fireplaces directly to customers
• Loading and unloading goods
• Heavy lifting is involved, so applicants must be physically fit and comfortable with manual handling
• Approximately 4 nights out per week, sleeping in the cab
• Monday to Friday working pattern

Pay & Benefits

• £14.24 per hour
• £15.60 night-out allowance per night
• Monday-Friday working week
