Job summary

Brook Street is recruiting for a Driver's Mate to join our client’s busy delivery team in Abingdon, Oxford. This hands-on role supports drivers with safe, efficient deliveries to customers across the region.

You will assist with loading/unloading, check paperwork, and help maintain vehicle cleanliness and safety. Hours are Monday–Friday, 37.5 per week, pay £13.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in warehouse/logistics is advantageous.
• Physically fit with ability to lift heavy objects.
• Reliable, punctual and hardworking.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Flexible and team‑oriented with a positive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Assist the driver with daily delivery schedules and routes.
• Load and unload goods safely and efficiently.
• Carry products into customer premises when needed.
• Ensure deliveries are accurate and on time.
• Check delivery paperwork and obtain signatures.

About the Role

We are currently recruiting for a Driver's Mate to join our client's busy delivery team based in Abingdon, Oxford.

This is a hands-on role supporting drivers with the safe and efficient delivery of goods to customers across the region.

Key Responsibilities

• Assisting the driver with daily delivery schedules and routes.
• Loading and unloading goods safely and efficiently.
• Carrying products into customer premises when required.
• Ensuring deliveries are completed accurately and on time.
• Checking delivery paperwork and obtaining customer signatures.
• Helping to secure loads and maintain vehicle cleanliness.
• Providing a professional and friendly service to customers.
• Following all health and safety procedures.
• Supporting warehouse operations when required.
  

Skills & Experience

• Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, delivery, or manual handling role would be advantageous.
• Physically fit and comfortable with heavy lifting.
• Reliable, punctual, and hardworking.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Flexible approach to working hours and duties.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn.

Working Hours: Monday-Friday, 37.5 hours.
