Job summary

You will drive a range of vehicles, perform basic inspections, report damage, and maintain inspection records. Full training is provided, with weekly pay and overtime opportunities.

Qualifications

• Full UK Driving Licence (no more than 6 points)
• Experience driving manual and automatic transmissions
• Good attention to detail and ability to identify vehicle damage
• Comfortable using handheld devices and completing basic documentation
• Previous vehicle inspection or compound driving experience is desirable but not essential
• Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions

Responsibilities

• Move vehicles safely around a large automotive compound
• Park vehicles in designated bays and move them in/out of workshops
• Handle a range of vehicles from family cars to high-performance models
• Drive manual, automatic and semi-automatic vehicles
• Conduct basic visual inspections before movement and report damage
• Carry out inbound inspections following training
• Record vehicle damage or defects using handheld devices and systems
• Support the inspection team during peak workloads
• Maintain accurate inspection records and documentation

Job description

We are currently recruiting Driver / Vehicle Inspectors to join our team in Upper Heyford, Oxfordshire. Successful candidates will be working on behalf of one of the UK's leading automotive and logistics businesses.

This is a varied role combining vehicle movement duties with vehicle inspection work. The successful candidates will primarily support compound operations but will also receive training in inbound vehicle inspections, providing support to the inspection team during busy periods.

Regular overtime is available for candidates looking to maximise their earnings.

The Role:

As a Driver / Vehicle Inspector, your responsibilities will include:

• Moving vehicles safely around a large automotive compound
• Parking vehicles in designated bays and moving them in and out of workshops
• Handling a range of vehicles, from everyday family cars to high-performance vehicles
• Driving manual, automatic, and semi-automatic vehicles
• Conducting basic visual inspections before moving vehicles and reporting any damage
• Carrying out inbound vehicle inspections following training
• Identifying and recording vehicle damage or defects using handheld devices and internal systems
• Supporting the inspection team during peak workload periods
• Maintaining accurate inspection records and documentation
• Working outdoors in all weather conditions

The Person:

• Full UK Driving Licence (no more than 6 points for minor offences)
• Confident driving a variety of vehicle makes, models, and sizes
• Experience with both manual and automatic transmissions is essential
• Good attention to detail and ability to identify vehicle damage
• Comfortable using handheld devices and completing basic documentation
• Previous vehicle inspection or compound driving experience is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced outdoor environment
• Reliable, professional, and able to work as part of a team
