Job summary

Arnold Clark Group in St Helens is seeking a proactive Driver/Valeter to ensure vehicles are presented in top condition. You will handle internal and external cleaning, detailing, and daily record-keeping to support the showroom and workshop teams.

The role suits someone who enjoys an active, physical job, pays close attention to detail, and works well within a team. Training is provided, with opportunities to progress within a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Must hold a full UK driving licence.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Self-motivated and able to work well in a team.
• Ability to multitask and manage competing tasks.
• Willingness to participate in training programmes, incl. Valet Academy.

Responsibilities

• Clean sold and stock vehicles to a high standard.
• Wash exteriors with a high-powered pressure washer.
• Vacuum and shampoo vehicle interiors.
• Polish/buff bodywork as required.
• Comply with health and safety procedures and PPE.
• Maintain equipment and report defects.
• Meet daily targets and complete records.
• Support branch with other duties as required.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Driver/Valeter to join our St Helens Renault/Dacia branch.

Hours

Full time: Monday - Friday 8am - 5.30pm and alternate Saturdays 8am - 12pm

About the role

As an Arnold Clark Driver/Valeter, you’ll be responsible for ensuring all our vehicles are presented in the best possible condition.

This position will be a perfect fit for someone who enjoys working in an active, physical role, has excellent attention to detail and is a fantastic team player.

Day-to-day duties

• Cleaning sold and stock vehicles to a high standard
• Cleaning vehicles externally with a high-powered pressure washer
• Using a high-powered vacuum to clean and shampoo vehicle interiors
• Working with a polishing/buffing machine to enhance bodywork
• Complying with health and safety procedures while working with chemicals
• Making sure that all equipment and machinery is properly maintained and secure at all times, reporting any defects and complying with manufacturers’ instructions and PPE recommendations
• Working to set timeframes and targets
• Completing a daily record of work completed
• Other duties to support the branch as required

Essential requirements

• Full UK driving licence
• High level of attention to detail
• Self-motivation with the ability to work as part of a team
• The ability to multi-task
• Willingness to participate in training programmes

Valet experience is preferred, but training can be provided for a candidate who demonstrates a high level of enthusiasm and the other required criteria. Arnold Clark also operates a Valet Academy which all new valet staff will attend.
