Job summary

Arnold Clark Group is seeking a proactive Driver/Valeter for our Volkswagen/BYD branch in Rutherglen. You will ensure vehicles are prepared to the highest standard, both inside and out, while working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

The role requires a full UK driving licence and a strong eye for detail. Training is provided, and a Valet Academy exists for new staff. The team culture values quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid UK driving licence.
• High level of attention to detail is essential.
• Self-motivated and able to work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Clean sold and stock vehicles to a high standard.
• Clean external surfaces with a high powered pressure washer.
• Vacuum and shampoo vehicle interiors.
• Polish/buff bodywork to enhance appearance.
• Adhere to health and safety procedures when handling chemicals.
• Maintain and secure equipment, report defects and follow PPE guidelines.
• Work to set timeframes and targets.
• Complete daily records of work performed.
• Support the branch with additional duties as required.

Job description

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Driver/Valeter to join our Volkswagen/BYD branch in Rutherglen.

Hours

Full time: Monday - Friday 8am - 5.30pm and alternate Saturdays 8am - 12pm

About the role

As an Arnold Clark Driver/Valeter, you’ll be responsible for ensuring all our vehicles are presented in the best possible condition.

This position will be a perfect fit for someone who enjoys working in an active, physical role, has excellent attention to detail and is a fantastic team player.

Day-to-day duties

• Cleaning sold and stock vehicles to a high standard
• Cleaning vehicles externally with a high-powered pressure washer
• Using a high-powered vacuum to clean and shampoo vehicle interiors
• Working with a polishing/buffing machine to enhance bodywork
• Complying with health and safety procedures while working with chemicals
• Making sure that all equipment and machinery is properly maintained and secure at all times, reporting any defects and complying with manufacturers’ instructions and PPE recommendations
• Working to set timeframes and targets
• Completing a daily record of work completed
• Other duties to support the branch as required

Essential requirements

• Full UK driving licence
• High level of attention to detail
• Self-motivation with the ability to work as part of a team
• The ability to multi-task
• Willingness to participate in training programmes

Valet experience is preferred, but training can be provided for a candidate who demonstrates a high level of enthusiasm and the other required criteria. Arnold Clark also operates a Valet Academy which all new valet staff will attend.
