Job summary

Arnold Clark Group is hiring a Driver/Valeter on a temporary 4-month contract. The role runs full-time, Monday to Friday 8am–5:30pm with alternate Saturdays 8am–12pm. You will ensure vehicles are presented in top condition, both inside and out, and will join a team focused on quality and speed.

This position suits someone who is energetic, detail-focused and able to work well with others. Training and valet academy support are provided to new staff.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence is required.
• High level of attention to detail is essential.
• Self-motivation with the ability to work in a team.
• Ability to multi-task across duties.
• Willingness to participate in training programmes.

Responsibilities

• Clean sold and stock vehicles to a high standard.
• Clean external areas with a high-powered pressure washer.
• Vacuum and shampoo vehicle interiors.
• Polish/buff bodywork as required.
• Follow health and safety procedures when handling chemicals.
• Maintain equipment and report defects; comply with PPE guidelines.
• Meet daily targets and complete a record of work.
• Support the branch with additional duties as needed.
• Valet experience preferred, training provided.

About the role

As an Arnold Clark Driver/Valeter, you’ll be responsible for ensuring all our vehicles are presented in the best possible condition.

This position will be a perfect fit for someone who enjoys working in an active, physical role, has excellent attention to detail and is a fantastic team player.

Day-to-day duties

• Cleaning sold and stock vehicles to a high standard
• Cleaning vehicles externally with a high-powered pressure washer
• Using a high-powered vacuum to clean and shampoo vehicle interiors
• Working with a polishing/buffing machine to enhance bodywork
• Complying with health and safety procedures while working with chemicals
• Making sure that all equipment and machinery is properly maintained and secure at all times, reporting any defects and complying with manufacturers’ instructions and PPE recommendations
• Working to set timeframes and targets
• Completing a daily record of work completed
• Other duties to support the branch as required

Valet experience is preferred, but training can be provided for a candidate who demonstrates a high level of enthusiasm and the other required criteria. Arnold Clark also operates a Valet Academy which all new valet staff will attend.
