In the role of Driver Technician, you will support the operational delivery of the Safety and Communications business. You will travel regularly to various locations, responsible for the delivery and collection of Safety and Communications hire equipment, and demonstrate the technical equipment in operation to customers. As the face of Sunbelt Rentals to our customers, you will be well presented, communicate professionally on site, and promote the positive image of the business.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering and collecting equipment, completing checks and related administration
  • Ensuring safe and professional driving of company vehicles, conducting safety checks
  • Issuing safety and communication equipment to clients on site
  • Demonstrating safety equipment in operation to customers
  • Diagnosing and fixing equipment as needed
  • Promoting health and safety standards and equipment compliance
  • Maintaining effective relationships with the operations team
  • Undertaking pre-hire checks and functionality tests to support branch workloads
  • Enhancing Sunbelt Rentals' profile through professional conduct
  • Completing all reporting and administrative tasks in line with company standards
  • Achieving key performance indicators in a dynamic environment
  • Maintaining company standards under pressure while acting safely
  • Promoting Sunbelt Rentals services and benefits to clients and seeking additional revenue
  • Collaborating with operations to resolve customer issues promptly
  • Conducting audit and compliance tasks

Requirements for the Driver Technician role:

  • A fully competent driver with a clean driving license
  • Desirable: C1E license; minimum: 3.5 Tonne (Class B)
  • Good communication skills to positively represent the company
  • Numerate, articulate, with excellent attention to detail
  • Flexible working hours, including early starts and late finishes
  • Safety-first approach, compliant with H&S legislation and policies
  • Experience with Safety and Communication is desirable but not essential (training provided)
  • Willingness to develop product knowledge and understand the wider business
  • Exceptional communication skills for engaging with customers
  • Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office
