Driver's Mate

Position: Driver’s Mate

Type: Permanent

Hours: 48 hours per week, working any 5 days within a 7-day period.

Role Summary: Reporting to the Transport Manager, the Driver’s Mate will support loading/unloading, assist with route planning, build customer relationships, and uphold health and safety standards.

Responsibilities:

• Assist the driver and warehouse team with loading and unloading stock.
• Support the driver in planning efficient routes for timely and safe deliveries.
• Develop strong relationships with customers and internal teams.
• Prioritize health and safety in all activities.

Candidate Attributes and Experience:

• Experience as a driver’s mate, drayman, or warehouse worker is desirable but not essential; full training provided.
• Manual handling experience or training is advantageous.
• Knowledge of the local region is preferred.
