National Grid Electricity Distribution is seeking Craft Attendants for outdoor roles in Leicester and Kettering. The successful candidates will engage in the repair and maintenance of electrical assets, ensuring safety and quality standards. Ideal candidates should possess an English GCSE or equivalent, with flexibility and teamwork skills essential for this physically demanding position.

Location
Opportunities are available for two Craft Attendants, one based at Leicester and one based at Kettering.
The successful candidates will contribute to the repair, replacement, construction, and alteration of assets.
Progression opportunities may be available for individuals who demonstrate a desire to learn and undertake new tasks, depending on business needs.
To apply, you need to have an English GCSE (1-9 / G-A) or an equivalent qualification at the same level, such as Functional Skills.
Evidence of your qualification will be required prior to appointment.
This role involves being away from the depot in and around the area, often working in a team of two. You should be able to react quickly, decisively, and responsibly. Flexibility in approach is essential to meet team objectives. The role suits someone who enjoys a physically demanding outdoor environment.
You need to be mobile throughout the area, and out-of-hours standby duties may be required. A full driving license is desirable, and living within 30 minutes of the depot is preferred.
Some electrical experience is advantageous, but full training will be provided.
National Grid Electricity Distribution is committed to safeguarding its interests and those of colleagues and customers. This role is subject to a satisfactory DBS check, with different levels of screening depending on the role. Some roles require triannual checks.
