Job summary

Swansea City Council is seeking a Social Care Personal Assistant to support a private client in Swansea. The role is for 3 hours per week with a monthly schedule to be discussed, involving community outings, shopping, and companionship.

A DBS check is required before starting, and there is a six‑month probationary period. You must have a car with business insurance to transport the client and their wheelchair.

Qualifications

• DBS check must be processed prior to start of employment.
• Applicant must be comfortable assisting with a private client in the community.
• Must hold a car and have business insurance for client outings.
• Punctual, reliable, patient and adaptable in a home/community care setting.

Responsibilities

• Support going out in the community and accompany the client on activities.
• Assist with shopping and light outings using a wheelchair.
• Ensure the client’s privacy, safety and confidentiality at all times.
• Be dependable, friendly and arrive on time for shifts.
