Job summary

Harsco Rail, a division of Enviri, seeks a dedicated maintenance technician to drive, operate, and maintain OTM equipment within NWR infrastructure. You will perform stone-loading, daily maintenance, calibrations, and ensure high machine availability while adhering to health and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Mandatory Track safety qualification (PTS, DP) and basic safety competencies.
• Functional Skills Level 2 (communication, planning, organizing, prioritising) and IT literate.
• Technical Skills Level 1 in hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, mechanical systems; calibration and fault finding.
• Risk assessment and current maintenance standards competency.
• Preferred Mechanical, electrical, or maintenance background; minimum two years OTM experience; knowledge of rail plant operating systems.

Responsibilities

• Report defects and carry out repairs within required competency level.
• Complete tasks per Vehicle Maintenance Instruction (VMI).
• Assist Stoneblower Service Technician with required tasks.
• Maintain 5S and ensure compliance with company policies.
• Liaise with customer and contractors as required.
• Update risk assessments and maintain machine documentation.
• Operate OTM for maintenance and routine tasks.
• Maintain regular contact with control centre and Machine Manager.

JOB PURPOSE

• To Drive, Operate and Maintain OTM as required.
• Maximise machine availability.
• Carry out Stone-Loading, Daily Maintenance, Calibrations as and when required on the Stoneblower fleet.

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

• Report any defects found on machine & carry out repairs within required competency level for the role, as directed.
• Complete tasks in accordance with the Vehicle Maintenance Instruction (VMI)
• Assist Stoneblower Service Technician with required tasks.

• Ensure working environment is maintained as required by 5S.
• Inform supervisor of any issues / problems in a timely manner, which are outside your remit of control.
• Route learn in specific working areas as required.
• Operate machine for maintenance purposes.
• Ensure regularly updated & compliant with company policies & procedures.
• Awareness of company communication, i.e., e-mails, etc.
• Be responsible for the care of company assets in the individual’s possession.
• To undertake technical skills or non-technical skills training as required.
• Ensure compliance with competence assessment systems.
• Carry out assessing of staff as required and to plan if applicable
