Job summary

Harsco Rail, a global supplier of MoW products and services, is seeking an engineer to maintain the Stoneblower Fleet across UK depots. You will perform scheduled maintenance, electrical/mechanical fault finding and ensure maintenance documentation is accurate and timely.

The role requires an engineering apprenticeship or equivalent qualification, IT literacy, and a strong commitment to safety and quality with adherence to company standards.

Qualifications

• Time served apprenticeship in an engineering discipline or recognised mechanical/electrical/maintenance engineering qualification.
• Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic systems, fault finding and repair.
• IT literate with basic knowledge of Microsoft systems.
• Calibration and understanding of rail plant operating.
• Competent in current maintenance standards.

Responsibilities

• Carry out scheduled maintenance and repairs on the Stoneblower Fleet.
• Complete machine VMI in a timely manner.
• Servicing and minor repairs completed within required timeframe.

Qualifications

• Is likely to be time served apprenticeship in an engineering discipline, or Preferred recognised qualification as a mechanical / electrical / maintenance engineer

• Report any defects found on machine & carry out repairs within required competency level for the role or under instruction from field service engineer or supervisor


• Ensure planned maintenance duties are completed in line with company policies & procedures & work instructions


• Ensure working environment is maintained as required by 5S


• Inform supervisor of any issues / problems in a timely manner, which are outside your remit of control


• Operate machine for maintenance purposes, as required


• Ensure regularly updated & compliant with company policies & procedures


• Awareness of company communication via notice boards


• Be responsible for the care of company assets


• To undertake training as required


• Ensure compliance with competence assessment systems


• Comply with the Company Code of Conduct
