Job Title: Community Services Driver Operative
Job Purpose
To support the delivery of community-based services byproviding safe, reliable, and person-centred transport for residents throughthe Transport from Home Service and by delivering meals through the Mealsat Home Service. The role is essential in ensuring residents receive timelysupport, maintain independence, and access services that enhance theirwellbeing. The post holder will act as a key point of contact for serviceusers, promoting dignity, respect, and excellent customer service at all times.
Key Responsibilities
Transport Services
- Safelytransport residents to and from designated locations using accessiblevehicles.
- Assistpassengers with boarding, disembarking, and securing mobility equipmentwhere required.
- Conductvehicle safety checks before and after use and report any defectspromptly.
- Ensureall journeys are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance withservice schedules.
- Maintainaccurate transport records and comply with relevant transport regulations.
Meals at Home Service
- Delivermeals to residents in a timely and professional manner.
- Ensurefood is transported and delivered in accordance with health and safety andfood hygiene standards.
- Reportany concerns regarding service users' wellbeing, welfare, or safeguardingissues to the appropriate manager.
Customer Support
- Buildpositive relationships with residents, families, carers, and colleagues.
- Providea person-centred service that respects individual needs, preferences, anddignity.
- Offersupport and reassurance to vulnerable residents while maintainingprofessional boundaries.
- Actas an ambassador for the service, providing excellent customer care at alltimes.
General Duties
- Workindependently and as part of a team to ensure the effective deliveryofservices.
- Managedaily schedules and workloads efficiently to meet service demands.
- Attendmandatory training and development activities.
- Complywith organisational policies, including safeguarding, health and safety,data protection, and equality and diversity requirements.
- Undertakeany other duties appropriate to the role.
Experience
- Experienceworking within community support, social care, customer service, orsimilar public-facing services.
- Experiencedriving vehicles in a professional capacity.
- Experienceproviding support to vulnerable adults, older people, or individuals withadditional needs.
- Demonstrableability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Experienceoperating accessible or wheelchair-accessible vehicles.
- Experiencewithin transport, domiciliary care, community services, or meal deliveryservices.
- Experiencecompleting basic records and administrative documentation.
Qualifications and Skills
- FullUK Driving Licence with entitlement to drive vehicles up to D1 category (or willingness/ability to meet licensing requirements where applicable).
- Goodliteracy and numeracy skills.
- Strongcommunication and interpersonal skills.
- Abilityto work flexibly and respond to changing service needs.
- Understandingof customer care and person-centred service delivery.
- SafeguardingAdults training.
- Relevantqualification in Health and Social Care, Community Support, or a relatedfield.

Additional Information
Hours: 36 hours per week
Rate of Pay: Limited/Umbrella - £17.41per hour
Contract Type: Temporary/Agency (LimitedCompany or Umbrella basis)
Training: Full training will be provided
Driving Requirement: Full UK DrivingLicence with D1 entitlement required
Working Environment: Community-based roleinvolving resident transport services and home meal deliveries.
